We are over half way through the year. Many of us have been taking the opportunity to jet across the world this summer, some preferring the beautiful white houses and turquoise waters in Mykonos, and the clubs on the Balearic island of Ibiza; others simply enjoying the peaceful life of Southern France. When basking under the sun and sipping on a cocktail, it is easy to forget the chilly nights that have passed. Long gone are the log fires, and cashmere rugs. Instead the nights are short and sweet, and the sun comes up bright and beaming before we are even ready for breakfast! With the change in seasons, we at Vida have observed a change in dating ideas. The frequency and the sentiment can change as the seasons do. Read below for our step by step guide to seasonal dating ideas:
In the Summer, there is a touch of what we like to call “marathon dating”, lots of dates, back to back and when they are over you know it was an accomplishment, but it’s all a bit of a blur. People are much more social in the summer, meaning the frequency of dates is increased. However at the same time people are holidaying, partying and wedding season is here, therefore the dates you have may mean less emotionally. With higher options, and bigger gaps between dates (due to parties and holidays), this is why summer loves don’t always last! We said not always…
After the Summer comes the Fall, our favourite time to date! This is when work starts heating up so people are around more to keep the steady flow of dates and dating ideas coming. This also means restaurants are opening, therefore there are more options for fun. The work trips to New York are enjoyable, with the cool breeze and lively atmosphere. We can still make the most of being outside, and the light so the desire to date is still present. However at the same time, we know, that the cold, nights are upon us, so partnering up becomes a higher priority.
Then there is, Winter. At this most wonderful and romantic time of year, dating ideas are indoors-based, for the most part. Time to wrap up, and have a mulled wine and a mince pie with the one you love. More time spent without distractions, means more quality time getting to know your partner. Who cares about packing on the holiday pounds when you are still in the throws of the honeymoon stage with your partner! Whether you do decide on that skiing holiday to Verbier, or just a Christmas at home, ultimately the quality time is on the increase.
Just when you thought you got comfortable after a delightful, yet chilly Valentine’s Day under the Eiffel Tower, back comes the Spring. The Easter Bunny is here and we are all thrilled to see the leaves coming back on the trees. With the summer plans forming, and the diets in full force, focus can be taken off your partner, and dating ideas are few and far between, so it is important to maintain quality time as you did before. Think of the positives; days are getting warmer and people have more energy to devote to dating, so your possibilities increase.
Whatever the case, it’s a good idea to spend all four seasons enjoying the dating experiences with your partner and getting to know them through good times and bad, a lot can happen in a year! The seasons change and so do we.
